The terms on which Rokin provides the marketplace, and the rules for buying and selling on it.
These are not Rokin’s terms of service. This page is generic scaffolding so the structure and links exist. It has not been drafted or reviewed by a lawyer, and it does not bind Rokin or its users. Every highlighted value still needs a real one. Replace this whole document, and delete this banner, before launch.
These Terms of Service govern your use of rokin.org and any related service (the "Platform"), operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("Rokin", "we", "us").
By using the Platform you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. If you use the Platform for a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind that business.
You must be at least [18] and legally able to enter contracts.
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details, for keeping your credentials secure, and for everything done through your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
We may decline, suspend, or close an account at our discretion, including where verification cannot be completed.
Rokin is a venue. Contracts of sale are formed directly between buyer and seller. We are not the seller, the buyer, an agent for either, or an auctioneer of record unless expressly stated for a particular sale.
We do not take ownership or possession of any animal, do not warrant any listing, and do not guarantee that a bull will perform as described or as it has historically.

If you list an animal you agree that:
We may edit, refuse, or remove any listing, and may suspend sellers who breach this section.
A bid is a binding offer to buy at that price. If your bid is the winning bid you are committed to complete the purchase on the stated terms.
Bids cannot normally be retracted. [Set out any narrow retraction window and the process.]
A lot may carry a reserve. If bidding does not reach it the lot does not sell. [State whether reserves are disclosed.]
Timed auctions close at the stated time, extended by [X minutes] if a bid is placed in the final [X minutes].
We may cancel a bid or a sale where there is an obvious error, suspected manipulation, or a technical fault.
Buyers pay a buyer's premium of [X%] on the hammer or purchase price. Sellers pay a commission of [X%] on a completed sale. Listing is [free / $X].
Fees exclude taxes, which are your responsibility. Transport is quoted and paid separately. [State when fees become payable and whether they are refundable.]
We may change fees on notice. Changes do not affect sales already in progress.
Payment is made through the Platform. Funds are held and released to the seller once the buyer confirms the animal has been delivered as described, or automatically after [X days] if no issue is raised.
[State when title passes and when risk passes — on collection or on delivery.] Transport is arranged [by the buyer / through Rokin] and is at the [buyer’s] cost.
The buyer must inspect the animal on arrival and raise any discrepancy before confirming delivery.
Sellers must supply valid health certification and any test results required for the animal to move lawfully to its destination. Requirements vary by state; the parties are responsible for meeting them.
[Set out any soundness or fertility warranty period, what it covers, and how a claim is made — this is the single most disputed area in livestock sales and should not be left blank.]
You must not:
You keep ownership of the photographs, video, and text you upload. You grant Rokin a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, resize, and promote that content in connection with operating and marketing the Platform.
You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload. The Rokin name, logo, and the Platform itself remain ours, and nothing here grants you a licence to them.
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We give no warranty about any animal. Livestock is inherently variable; past performance does not predict future performance, and breeding outcomes are not guaranteed. Satisfy yourself as to any animal before you bid.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability arising out of or connected to the Platform is limited to [the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $X].
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost breeding revenue, or loss of an animal.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
You will indemnify Rokin against claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your listings, your transactions, your content, or your breach of these terms.
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where you breach these terms, where we are required to, or where we reasonably suspect fraud.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — fees owed, liability, indemnity, and governing law — do.
These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. [Specify the courts, or an arbitration clause and any class-action waiver — this needs legal input and differs by state.]
Disputes between a buyer and a seller are between those parties. We will provide transaction records and may assist, but we are not obliged to resolve them.
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and material changes take effect [X days] after we post them or notify you. Continuing to use the Platform after that means you accept them.
